If you’re spiritually alive, you’re going to love this! If you’re spiritually dead, you won’t want to read it. If you’re spiritually curious, there is still hope!

Why Go To Church?

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.. “I’ve gone for 30 years now,” he wrote, “and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can’t remember a single one of them. So, I think I’m wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.”

This started a real controversy in the “Letters to the Editor” column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher: read more…

Evolution

No Wonder Our Perception Of Beauty Is Distorted.. This video is only 1 minute long but it speaks volumes. It exposes the lies we tell ourselves and each other. It reveals the truths of media and societal expectations. It allows women everywhere to breathe a little easier because they realize they don’t actually have to suck in, pucker up and cover up ALL the time.

“This is the very perfection of a man, to find out his own imperfections.” – Saint Augustine

The path to a decent level of self-esteem doesn’t go hand in hand with the uncontrolled desire for physical perfection.

Utopia

2009 October 18
by Jayarathina Madharasan

A fallen heart a risen soul
A story spun of words untold
A memory once lost in time
A thought at last regained in rhyme
A perfect place that’s built to fail
A beauty to vast too entail
A dream too fragile to exist
A golden city fades to mist
A perfect moment never whole
A dream lives on though minds grow old

This poem has changed a lot and may still change a bit in the future. It’s about utopia and how in a fallen world it can never be achieved but it will always strived for and never truly die. It’s that striving that makes life worth living and truly exemplifies what it is to be Christian. It’s about how utopia may never be achieved but it’s the only thing worth truly fighting for.

Fr. Barron comments on Hell

2009 October 10

A wonderful speech by Rev. Fr. Barron. He explains why hell exists in a wonderful way… In fact he says that hell exist by the same reason which heaven exist. He says that the same ecstasy of the saints is the sorrow of the sinner. God doesn’t send anyone to hell. Its people who themself out of their free will chose to be there… Nice one to listen.. Hope you enjoy it..
