Not long ago I had Sharjah Milk Shake with my friend opposite to my university. It became my instant favorite. I have no idea how I spent three years there without knowing about this.. I was told the name Sharjahwas a local one. But the info was wrong. It is a famous recipe and a common name. Internet is full of it. Here is the Complete Recipe by Ms. Nagalakshmi. Hope you like it too..

By the way, please don’t use Horlicks as an alternative as recommended in there… It doesn’t taste good at all. Believe me, I tried it. :-(

Try it and let me know how it is.. :-)

Atheism

The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs.

Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869-1948), political and ...

Mahatma meaning ‘a great soul’ is an apt title to this man, who with a single bamboo stick fought against the mighty British empire and won… He is the best manager I have ever known. He united the entire India, which was divided by race, religion, caste and other socio-economical problems. He fought with non-violence and showed the world it can be done.

As Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Jesus showed the idea, but Gandhi gave us the method”

The object of this massive tribute died as he had always lived – a private man without wealth, without property, without official title or office. Mahatma Gandhi was not the commander of great armies nor a ruler of vast lands. He could not boast any scientific achievement or artistic gift. Yet men, governments and dignitaries from all over the world have joined hands today to pay homage to this little brown man in the loincloth who led his country to freedom.

In the words of General George C. Marshall, the American Secretary of State, “Mahatma Gandhi had become the spokesman for the conscience of all mankind. He was a man who made humility and simple truth more powerful than empires.”

And Albert Einstein added, “Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth.” – Edward R. Murrow: [at Gandhi's funeral]

Wish you all a Happy Gandhi Jayanthi

and

International Day of Non-Violence.

Think Differently

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Q: When Does Google Celebrate a Christian Cathedral?

… A: When it’s no longer Christian and not really a cathedral.

Google used the above special logo for the 450th anniversary of the St. Basil’s Cathedral on 12 July 2011. The logo is not on localized versions of Google where the population is mostly not Christian, such as Google Egypt, Google Pakistan, Google Israel and others. But it was on Google India, which does not have a majority christian population. So, I was wondering on what basis countries were chosen. (If you have not guessed it yet, here is a clue, other than the percentage of christian population, there is one more thing common to all those countries where this logo is not shown.) Anyway this is not the purpose of this post. More

Quarta di copertina del Reader's Digest (propo...

Read a story in Readers Digest India January 2011 about helping others (Pg. 50). Really a heart warming one. Its about how a young man indirectly influenced others to help a poor women.

Here is the link to the story: http://www.readersdigest.co.in/kindness

It is the first story there under the name Paving the Way by Colin Maltman, Australia

Next time when you cross some one in our life whom you can help, but you are not obliged to, just think how much more goodness can come out from your little action.

Any one can help all you need is a heart. Always remember, “What goes out, comes back to you.”
